All who served in Vietnam deserve recognition in perpetuity for service to the Nation. It is proposed for that recognition to be provided by the construction of a Commemorative Walk.
Through the initiative of the Mitchell Sub-Branch of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia and the Mitchell Shire Council comprehensive plans have been produced. This project has the support of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia, both Federal and State, and the Returned and Services League of Australia.
The concept has a 300m pathway leading visitors through a series of walls inscribed with the names of all 62,100 personnel who served in Vietnam. Set in a landscape of native tress and grasses that resemble "Rubber Trees" and "Rice Paddies" will be areas of contemplation.
